Differences Between LCD and LED...
(By : Amitesh Singh)

LCD stands for “liquid crystal display” and LED stands for "Light Emitting Diods".

But,technically, both LED and LCD TVs are liquid crystal displays.

The basic technology is the same in that both television types have two layers of polarized glass through which the liquid crystals both block and pass light. So really, LED TVs are a subset of LCD TVs.

1.LCD televisions use fluorescent CFL lighting.

2.Technology used in LCD sets are generally more energy efficient.
LCD displays utilize two sheets of polarizing material with a liquid crystal solution between them.

3.Electric current passed through the liquid causes the crystals to align so that light cannot pass through them.

4.Each crystal works like a shutter, either allowing light to pass through or blocking the light.

1.LED TV use LED lights for back lighting.

2.LED TV helps alleviate the problem of poor color fidelity that LCD’s suffer from.

3.LED’s are good for displaying images because they are relatively small, and they do not burn out.

4.LED’s requires more power than LCD’s
LED technology is a subset of LCD, albeit an improvement thereof. Basically, an LED monitor is still LCD but with backlighting added.
